Basil Melon Slush

This fresh and fruity drink has a sour-sweet flavour with an aroma of basil. It's fancy just as is or make it into a margarita by adding in some tequila. Cheers!



Prep Time: 15 min

Additional Time: Freeze melon overnight

Cook time: N/A

Yield: 4 Cups of slush


Ingredients

  • 1 honeydew melon, diced and frozen

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 bunch thai basil

  • 1 cup lime juice (about 6 limes)

  • Club Soda

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat combine sugar, water and basil leaves. Stir until sugar has dissolved and then heat for 5 min further. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

  2. Blend the simple syrup and basil together, strain and reserve syrup.

  3. In a blender combine frozen melon, lime juice and 6 tbsp of simple syrup.

  4. Serve 1/2 cup of the slush in each glass and top up with 1/2 cup of club soda.

Zhuzh it up!

  • Make this a true margarita and add in 2oz of tequila.
