This salsa full of bright flavours and colours is the perfect addition to snack time. If you're into using smoke, check out our recommendation for smoking the salsa and the salt used in it to add extra delicious flavour. This also pairs perfectly with a smoked margarita!

Prep Time: 10 min

Rest time: up to ~2hrs

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 roma tomatoes, finely diced

  • 2 jalapeño peppers, finely diced (with or without seeds - your heat choice!)

  • 1/2 yellow onion, finely diced

  • 3 green onions, finely sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • half of a lime, juiced

  • pinch of cumin

  • salt to taste

Directions

  1. Mix together all the finely diced vegetables in a medium bowl and then add the lime juice and cumin. Mix well.

  2. Make it smoky: smoke a large jar and add the salsa into the jar after mixed. Let it sit for up to and hour in the fridge before serving.

  3. Sprinkle with salt to taste & serve. Smoke the salt before seasoning the salsa with it - seriously worth it!

  4. If you've got the time, make it at least a couple hours in advance to allow the flavours to strengthen and come together.

Zhuzh it up!

  • Got a bigger crowd to serve? Just double or triple to ingredients & keep some reserved in the fridge so you can top up the snack bar with this fresh cool side.
